Emma Senft is an artist and designer working with wood and natural materials. From her Montreal studio she creates contemporary objects for people to connect with in their daily lives. She draws on traditional techniques and hand-worked details to explore the spectrum between function and decoration.
She holds a BFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, NS and a professional diploma in Cabinetmaking from Rosemont Technology Centre in Montreal. She combines her technical and artistic training with her background in architecture and design to re-explore the built world. She works as a fine craft artist to connect people to storytelling through objects, and share the cultural impact of the hand made.
