Québec City, January 9, 2018 – To kick start a brand new year, Materia is welcoming the exhibition Holos by artist sculptor Claude-Olivier Guay. The opening with the artist attending will be on Friday, January 19, from 5 pm.

Holos is a body of five sculptures and projections through which the artist touches on humans and animals as different avatars of the same nature. In this idea of cycle, of poetic metamorphosis, the only identity criterion is this process of transformation and rearrangement of the material. In addition to generating a specular relation to sculptures, the artist questions our current relation to nature and to the mechanisms of transformation that comprise it.

Materia is proud to pursue its mission by showcasing the work of an emerging Québec City based artist whose research and technical mastery of material explore sensitive contemporary identity themes.
